Aryana Sayeed, an up & coming talented Afghan artist from London, UK was initially introduced to Afghan music fans through her duet songs with Jawid Sharif. Lately she has been touring with Habib Qaderi – the concert that I missed here in Vancouver, Canada… which a lot of people spoke highly of.

Waleed Mohamand, an up and coming young artist from Australia has teamed up with Sash Studios to bring you two fabulous and Mast music videos.

The band, Kabul Dreams, is made up of vocalist Sulaymon Qardash, bass player Siddique Ahmad and drummer Mujtaba Habibi, who claim to be the country’s first and only rock and roll group.

“One year ago in December we decided to create this band and since it was happening in Kabul, we thought Kabul Dreams is a good name,” says the 19-year-old vocalist, who bears a distinct resemblance to Liam Gallagher of the British band Oasis.

“It’s a real dream to play indie rock music in Afghanistan.”

The year 2009 was a very interesting and busy year in the Afghan music industry. A big number of hit and new artists released a list of unforgetable tracks and videos.

The following is a list of most notable and downloaded hit songs of 2009 which gained great popularity and exposure on a variety of websites, radio stations and satellite channels.

I think a lot of fans were patiently waiting for this video to be produced… but now it’s official: Jawid Sharif has just released the video of his hit song Tajik Dokhtarak.

Shekeb is a humble and genuine artist who is loved and respected by many artists and peers in Toronto. Lately he has teamed up with Orokzai Studios in production of his two latest videos which can be watched below.

Sediq Shubab is a renowned Afghan pop artist. Sediq continues his music career in exile from Frankfurt, Germany. Working closely with one of the most successful music arranger and composer, Khaled Kayhan of Kayhan Studios, Sediq has managed to maintained his status as one of the top recording artists inside and outside Afghanistan.

Sediq is known for singing traditional and folk Afghan songs in Dari and Pashto with the actual dialect of the region that the songs belong to.

Bashir Hamdard is a young but successful Afghan pop artist who resides in Germany. Ever since his first music video Ay Padshah-e Khooban mixed with Hindi song which aired on many Afghan satellite channels, Bashir has rose to fame and is now performing live in concerts and has a great amount of fan base in Youtube.
