Farhad Shams New Video – Matlab-e Dosti

18 July 2009 10,631 views 10 Comments

Farhad Shams Farhad sang and released this song on his Myspace a while back. I really loved this song due to its simplicity and the beautiful sound of Rubab. Matlab-e Dost which is an old folkloric song is arranged in “Majlesi” manner thus the setting of this video, which takes place in a Majles or house party perfectly makes sense.

As you will see in this video – one thing I did not understand is the girl refusing to get up and dance with the fella who requests by giving her his hand. What’s up with that?

Anyone care to explain?

really nice song. we barely have the chance to hear majlise songs with just tabla and rubab- its really great. i want to answer the dude who put the description of the sogn along with a question. if you notice the lyrics at that part or a little before it farhad shams is talking about being upset in love or something similar to that… so the girl is acting as though she is mad at the boy who asks for her hand to dance :D ur welcome pesh az pesh
